New Students

New students who wish to register with Student Access Center for adapted services

Students living with a documented disability are entitled, by Law, to receive certain accommodations during their studies and in the evaluation of their learning. Such disabilities may include visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, emotional, social or organic/physical impairments, which could impede their learning and success at the postsecondary level education.

Accommodations may include, but are not limited to:

  • Extended time in the assessment and evaluation of learning
  • The use of a quiet room
  • The use of special software or equipment
  • Specialized assistance from another person
  • Adapted forms of evaluation tasks
  • Note taking and in-class assistance

To receive accommodations, students must provide an official letter or report that they received from a medical or qualified professional that confirms their diagnosis or condition. They will also need to meet with the Student Access Center's Counselor to have their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) prepared based on the documentation and information provided as well as on their course and program objectives. Students who are experiencing difficulties but do not have the appropriate documentation may still contact the SAC for further assistance.

Students who wish to have their IEP ready in time for the first week of class are strongly encouraged to contact the Student Access Center at sac@champlaincollege.qc.ca as soon as they receive their letter of acceptance. We will process all requests in the order that we receive them. (Please consider that during the summer months, the SAC may have limited services).

If you have any questions about what is required to obtain an IEP, please visit the Student Access Center website at champlainsaintlambertsac.com. If you wish further information, please contact the Student Access Center by email at sac@champlaincollege.qc.ca or by phone 450 672-7360 extension 3444.
